A most wonderful stay
The fact that the hotel is well away from the busy, tourist frequented areas of the island and has the most stunning view over the lake. The bedroom together with the living room were spacious and very comfortable. The breakfasts were fresh and beautifully presented at our room. I forgot my hearing aids when we left and Monica, the owner, was incredibly accommodating, kind and generous. She organised for them to be couriered to our hotel in Venice and refused to accept reimbursement for the costs. How amazing is that! I'd score the hotel a solid 10!

Wir durften ein paar wunderschöne Tage in der Casa Giuseppe verbringen und haben uns vom ersten Moment an wohlgefühlt. Das Haus ist mit unglaublich viel Liebe zum Detail und einem wunderschönenGespür für Stil eingerichtet – man merkt sofort, wie viel Herz in diesem besonderen Ort steckt.
Die Aussicht von der Terrasse auf den Lago d'Orta lässt sich kaum in Worte fassen. Ich habe wirklich selten etwas so Schönes gesehen.
Monica und ihr Team verwöhnt einen von A bis Z. Das Frühstück konnten wir jeden Abend ganz nach unseren Wünschen zusammenstellen und am nächsten Morgen stand ein liebevoll gepackter Frühstückskorb vor unserer Tür. Die Massagen waren traumhaft, der Spa eine echte Wohlfühloase und der Apéro, der in der Lounge mit Blick auf den See serviert wurde, war jeden Abend ein kleines Highlight.
Ein ganz besonderes Dankeschön geht an Monica. Sie hat sich mit so viel Herzlichkeit um alles gekümmert und unseren Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht. From the food being about as delicious as it gets, to the outstanding staff and service (Monica coordinates every detail to perfection, Mrs. Ionela & Mrs. Marisa helping carrying it all out, and a stunning massage from Mrs. Denise & her masseuse partner who I sadly didn’t catch the name of; just to name a few) and a cherry on top of the most stunning views of lake Orta we could find, this is where you want to spend your getaway. This is worth every penny, as my husband said, “I think we found a slice of heaven!”

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine kindness that we immediately felt at home. The setting is simply breathtaking. We stayed in Casa Maria, a charming apartment with its own private garden overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Lake Orta and the enchanting village of Orta San Giulio. The view is nothing short of spectacular and changes beautifully throughout the day. Every morning began with a generous breakfast basket delivered directly to our apartment. Enjoying fresh local produce on our private terrace while taking in the peaceful surroundings was a luxury we will never forget.
The apartment is thoughtfully designed and exceptionally well equipped, with a full kitchen, a washing machine, and everything needed for a relaxing stay, whether for a few days or much longer. The infinity pool offers magnificent panoramic views across the lake, and the stylish lounge bar is a wonderful place to relax with a coffee, an aperitif, or a glass of wine while admiring the scenery. Just a one-minute walk away, you'll find a delightful family-run trattoria serving authentic Italian cuisine—another reminder that this area has remained wonderfully genuine.
Lake Orta itself is a hidden treasure. Unlike some of Italy's more famous lakes, it offers an atmosphere of peace, authenticity, and understated elegance. The surrounding landscape is lush and beautiful, inviting you to slow down and simply enjoy the moment.

Our honeymoon at Villa Antica Colonia SPA & Wellness was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the property and the exceptional hospitality from Monica and the team. The apartment itself was superb - remarkably spacious, immaculately clean, and elegantly furnished. The panoramic views from the private balcony overlooking Lake Orta were spectacular, providing the perfect, romantic backdrop for our morning breakfast and evening relaxation. Our host, Monica, was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless. They took all the stress out of our evenings by personally managing our restaurant bookings and arranging reliable transport to and from our dining destinations. The support staff were equally wonderful - always warm, professional, and eager to assist with a smile. The facilities at the villa are exceptional. The swimming pool was arguably the cleanest we have ever encountered, offering yet another stunning vantage point of the lake. We also thoroughly enjoyed the lovely continental breakfasts provided each morning. The spa facilities were a true highlight of our trip; having a private, two-hour session allowed us to truly unwind in a serene, intimate setting. Villa Antica Colonia provided the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, privacy and romance for our honeymoon. We cannot recommend it highly enough, and we are already planning on returning next year.

What a great find.. we decided to stay outside Milan in a quiet lake village and we found this.. Monica is such a
great host and her staff are so sweet.. very attentive and clean.. Ask Monica about the history of the villas.
Really great stories.. our villa is named after her grandfather who purchased this place.. all rooms are
decorated with modern fixtures and yet they kept some of the original doors and windows. Highly

Pure relaxation.
We had a wonderful stay here. Monica and Ionela took such good care of us. The property is intimate, private, and very peaceful. We cooked several meals and sat out on the patio overlooking the lake. We loved having our breakfasts brought to our room every morning. Fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, cured meat, oatmeal, milk, etc. All very high quality. We would love to come back and stay again. One final thing: We LOVED having access to laundry on the property. So convenient!

We’ve just returned from a fabulous trip to Villa Antica Colonia on Lake Orta, and it truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The villa itself is stunning — beautifully maintained, full of character, and set in the most breathtaking spot overlooking the lake. A huge thank you to Monica, who was absolutely amazing and so helpful throughout our stay. She made everything completely stress-free, from our arrival to our departure.

We stayed at Villa Antica Colonia in September 2025. We had such a wonderful time!! The villa is very peaceful and relaxing. The views from our balcony overlooking the lake were stunning! Especially at sunset. The breakfast is very generous and contained fresh local products. Cocktails by the hot tub or by the pool with a lovely selection of antipasti is not to be missed either! Nice restaurants in Pettenasco just a short walk from the villa. 100% recommende.

No better place for our first visit to Italy
We can only reiterate all the previous reviews. The villa is in a stunning location, luxurious and so comfortable with amazing attention to detail on the beautiful decor AND everything that you need as a guest. Monica is an amazing host, nothing is too much trouble and it was a real pleasure to get to know her. The information you receive beforehand makes finding and parking very straightforward. We stayed in Casa Giuseppe with its wonderful terrace with views over the lake. First two days we explored, walking to nearby Pettenasco and surrounding areas, local restaurants, we used the private spa, swimming pool and outdoor jacuzzi. All fantastic. But our last couple of days we couldn’t tear ourselves away from watching the lake through the day and evening, complete relaxation. The generous breakfast basket if filled with delicious quality produce, we discovered the shop cusio formaggi which provides some of the produce and bought fresh pasta to cook at the appartment which was perfectly equipped to rustle up great romantic meals for two! A massage from Denise was absolutely the best. And a big thank you also to Signora Ionela for looking after us so wonderfully and the amazing aperitivo. You certainly feel the love that has gone in to the Villa, the history of the family, a perfect place for rest and relaxation, good for the soul. I hope we will get back again.

This was one of the most beautiful places my wife and I have ever stayed at. The atmospheric building renovated to a meticulous standard still retains its old world elegance, with views high over Lake Orta which constantly inspire. As sunset approached and bathed the terrace in warm sunlight, there was no place we’d rather be. Thank you Monica for such warm hospitality and creating such a special and memorable place

La dame de services est aux petits soins. Un très beau séjour dans cet établissement que nous recommandons.

Essendo incinta, ho particolarmente apprezzato le attenzioni riservate: dalla disponibilità nel personalizzare alcuni piccoli dettagli al momento dell’arrivo, alla discrezione con cui sono stati suggeriti ritmi più tranquilli e accorgimenti per il comfort.
La piscina esterna con vista è un sogno, ideale per rilassarsi, e la spa privata — riservata per due ore solo a noi — è stata un’esperienza unica: silenziosa, pulita, accogliente e perfetta anche per chi, come me, desiderava un momento di benessere dolce e sicuro.

This has been a family owned and run business since 1950’s by two generations of women with vision and a desire to provide the best possible visitor experience. The vistas of Lake Orta and mountains are breathtaking from every direction and the SPA Wellness facilities and treatments are spectacular (our acknowledgement and appreciation to Denise for her dedication to the meaning of Wellness and her dedication). This is a quiet couple’s only property which has undergone extensive and beautiful restoration which had everything we could ask for.
We have absolutely zero complaints.

Really enjoyed our stay here—beautiful views, breakfast delivered every morning, short drive to Orta san Giulio (or take the nearby train—long walk or park your car at the station) or up the hill to Mottarone. Monica gave us a friendly greeting and tour of the facilities and explanations of the items in the apartment.

This is a small boutique hotel (only 7 apartments). There is a spa, sauna, pool, jacuzzi and lounge / bar area all with magnificent views over Lake d'Orta. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there is a wide choice of hot and cold dishes available for breakfast in your room - and some excellent restaurants in the village and local town (Pettenasco) - just a 5 minute drive away. The staff are very friendly and they go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.

Fantastic Experience, highly recommended.
Everything about this property was A+++. Exceptional views, room and property. Out host, Monica,was fantastic, and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we required and was very helpful providing concierge services. Jacuzzi and pool areas are excellent with outstanding scenic views of the lake and surrounds. Great selection of food and drink for breakfast, delivered to your room right on requested time.

Posizione incantevole. Camere accoglienti con arredamento moderno combinato con alcuni pezzi antichi di gusto. Tutto perfetto. La spa ad uso esclusivo una chicca che vale assolutamente la pena. Tutti gentili e disponibili. Ci siamo coccolati e ci hanno viziato. Un posto in cui tornare.

We stayed in the penthouse suite and the views were spectacular! Monica was a great hostess and helped in everyway possible...from places to see, restaurants, the spa. I would highly recommend the Villa Antica, you will not be disappointed! A definite 10! We will be back!

Probably the best place to stay at Lago d'Orta with only a handful rooms. Very calm located in Crabbia, close to Pettenasco.
Very nice location with highstandard personal Service by Monica & Valentina.
Especially the Breakfast Service in a Basket is remarkable.

The location, the appartment, the breakfast and the massages, all was above expectations. We were welcomed by Monica, who was always avaiable during our stay. Helped by good weather we enjoyed the terrace and seating arrangements. The proposed restaurant was indeed easily reachable and very nice as well. All and all a super experience!
There is nothing we would to be better as it was.
