The Vaults

One of humanity’s most deeply rooted beliefs is that water is the source of life.
This was well known long ago by Eastern peoples and the Romans, for whom the spa (salus per aquam, meaning health through water) was an integral part of daily life.
Thus was born “The Vaults,” the spa of Villa Antica Colonia, an oasis of relaxation born from the Martinazzi family’s vision, focused on the well-being of their guests while preserving the building’s architectural tradition. This room, located on the semi-basement level, like every detail of the villa, tells a piece of the home’s history: long ago, a large central tub served as a washroom, the ancestor of what we would today call a laundry. Its great charm lies in the vaulted ceiling, a distinctive witness of the era that captures and conveys its historic allure.
The heart of “The Vaults” is brought to life and warmed by a stunning wood-burning fireplace, which dominates the space and creates an atmosphere of unique and complete intimacy for couples.
